What we collect

When you join the waitlist we store the email address you enter, whether you selected Buy or Sell, and the dates you signed up and confirmed. We also record whether you confirmed your email address.

Alongside that we store a small amount of technical information about the signup itself: a random identifier kept in a cookie on your browser for up to 400 days, your browser's user-agent string, and one-way hashes of your IP address and browser details. We do not store your IP address itself — only a salted one-way hash of it, which cannot be reversed back to the original address.

If you reached us through a partner's QR code or link, we store that partner's referral code — a short label such as CARDSHOP1, kept in a second cookie for 90 days. If you scanned that code at a card show the partner was working, we also store a label for that show, such as ANAHEIM-FALL-CLASSIC, so the signup can be credited to it. Neither label identifies you; together they record where you heard about Certex.

That is the entire set. We do not ask for your name, address, or payment details, and this site does not use analytics or advertising cookies — the only cookies we set are the two described above. The site also loads no third-party scripts, fonts, or other resources: everything it needs is served from Certex, so no outside company sees your visit.

Why we collect it

The email address is used to notify you when Certex opens and to share news relevant to early members. The Buy or Sell selection is used in aggregate, to understand the balance of buyers and sellers joining so we can plan the launch.

The technical information exists for one reason: we reward partners for genuine signups, so we need to be able to tell whether a batch of entries came from one person filling the form repeatedly on the same device. We use it to check the integrity of the waitlist and for nothing else — not profiling, not advertising, and not tracking you across other websites.

Partners can view a page showing how many signups their own code has brought in, broken down by show. That page shows counts only — never your email address, and never any of the technical information above.

We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing.

Where it is stored

Waitlist entries are stored in a MongoDB Atlas database. This site is hosted on Netlify, which processes requests to the site in the ordinary course of serving it. Confirmation and announcement emails are delivered by Resend. All three act as processors on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep waitlist entries until Certex launches and you either create an account or tell us to remove you. If the project does not launch, we delete the list.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Email support@certexmarket.com from the address you signed up with and we will action it. Every announcement email we send will also include an unsubscribe link.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data, including the right to object to processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we will remove the entry.

Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and revise the date above.
